Scholarships

✔ Ten $1,000 College Scholarships

Ten $1,000 college scholarships will be given away at the Alabama Sports Festival's Athlete Leadership Summit and Opening Ceremonies, Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex Arena. Alabama Sports Festival athletes and coaches who are pre-registered to compete in the 2010 Alabama Sports Festival State Games by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010, and present at the drawing, will be eligible to win one of the ten $1,000 college scholarships.


How it will work

1. Register to compete in the 2010 Alabama Sports Festival State Games by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010.

2. By turning in your Opening Ceremonies Parade of Athletes T-shirt coupon, you will become eligible for the scholarship drawings.

3. There will be drawings during each activity (Athlete Leadership Summit, Parade of Athletes, and Opening Ceremonies) for chances to win.

4. You must be present to win.

  • If currently attending college, the scholarship will be paid to that college.
  • If not yet graduated from high school, the scholarship will be put in a trust account. Upon graduating from high school, the scholarship money will be paid to the winner's college of choice.
  • If an adult, the scholarship can be used for continuing education classes or transferred to a family member.

The Alabama Sports Festival has awarded 329 academic scholarships to the youth of Alabama totaling $193,000.

Ten $1,000 college scholarships were given away at the Alabama Sports Festival's Athlete Leadership Summit and Opening Ceremonies, Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. Alabama Sports Festival athletes and coaches who are present and pre-registered were eligible to win one of the ten $1,000 college scholarships.
