The Alabama Sports Festival would like to thank all of our participants for joining us during the 2010 Summer Olympic Games and hope that we were able to make it a great experience for everyone involved! We would also like to especially thank Tom Monroe and Henry Tindall for the hard work they put into making this a great event. We are very lucky to have them as great ambassadors to our organization. Also, thank you to all of our 2010 key volunteers and sponsors!

Remember, the 2011 Summer Olympic Games will be back in Birmingham June 24-26. We hope everyone can join us again for our Opening Ceremonies Celebration!

The 2010 PDGA National Tour winds down this weekend at the Skylands Classic at Blue Mountain in Palmerton, Pennsylvania. 

When most people conjure up imagery of golf in their mind’s eye, it usually is filled with peaceful landscapes of vernal fairways, sloping greens and slightly bending trees tilted towards the action, as if interested in the outcome of each shot.

Congratulations to the 2010 Vibram Open Champion Nikko Locastro, who never shot worse than a 1056-rated round of 55 during the three tournament rounds. Tied with Matt Orum entering the 18th and final hole, Nikko's victory wasn't assured until he scored a birdie 3 on the 650-ft.

Congratulations to Sarah Stanhope for winning the Open Women Division at the 2010 Vibram Open! Sarah has now won the event two years in a row and is coming off a recent 2010 Professional Disc Golf World Championships win in Crown Point, IN. Based on the strength of a 997-rated final round of 63, Sarah cruised to a 5-throw margin of victory. Way to go, Sarah!

Vibram GM Champ 15 Aug 2010, 10:40 am

Congratulations to Maryland's Jim Myers for winning the Grandmasters Division at the 2010 Vibram Open. Based on the strength of a 1034-rated second round of 58, Jim jumped out to an 8-throw lead heading into the Finals and cruised to the win. Way to go, Jim!

The 2010 PDGA elections took place from July 1 – July 31 and have now been completed. 13,676 ballots were sent out to eligible members with 3,094 members voting, representing a participation rate of 22.6% of eligible voters.
